SOCIAL PROJECTS

LEKI is very committed to support our communities beyond our line of business. For years, LEKI has been supporting a wide variety of social projects and associations in the region and is generally reluctant to engage in public relations concerning these activities. Nevertheless, we would like to introduce a project that is particularly close to our hearts.

HIGH FIVES FOUNDATION

On April 29, 2006, Roy Tuscany suffered a devastating spinal cord injury while skiing at Mammoth Mountain, leaving his lower body paralyzed immediately after the accident. Instead of pursuing a career as a professional skier, he now had to learn everything from scratch. Because of his positive attitude, he made tremendous progress and was back on skis once again in March 2008. The encouragement and positivity he received during his recovery inspired him to create a foundation to help others in similar situations. The High Five Non-Profit Foundation, based in Truckee, California, has supported the recovery of 196 athletes from 31 countries.

PARTNERSHIPS

LEKI has developed the Wanderfreund High Fives Walking Pole to support the High Five Foundation. This three-part aluminum pole is equipped with a cork grip, speed lock and a rubber buffer on a trekking tip. LEKI donates five percent of every Wanderfreund High Fives Walking Pole sold to the High Five Foundation.
